Welcome Message

On behalf of the Association of the Electricity Supply Industry of East Asia and the Western Pacific (AESIEAP) and Taiwan Power Company, I am very pleased to welcome you to CEPSI 2010, scheduled to be held in Taipei, on October 24-28, 2010.

With the theme of the Conference, “Challenges and Opportunities for the Electric Power Industry in an Uncertain Era,” 54 topics in five main areas have been identified, and they will be addressed in 9 panel sessions and 52 technical sessions ranging from business and utility management and Power Grid to new energy and green energy. In all, over 350 papers will be presented by speakers from over 25 countries. So, I expect that the CEPSI 2010 in Taipei will be a great, productive conference for all delegates.

It is our privilege to have Mr. John R. Fielder, President of Southern California Edison as the keynote speaker. Mr. Fielder will share his valuable view and experience with us. It is also our honor to have Mr. Kurt Yeager, Executive Director, Galvin Electricity Initiative and former President & CEO, Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) to give a special address at the Farewell Dinner. Moreover, we are very pleased to have 38 internationally prominent panel speakers from 16 countries.

In addition to the official program, we urge you to experience the beauty of Taipei, a fascinating city, mixed with modern and traditional cultures. Taipei is also well-known for its 101 building, one of the world’s renowned skyscrapers. I hope you take this opportunity to tour around Taipei and enjoy the delicious cuisines here.

I greatly appreciate your kind contribution to this remarkable conference and exhibition. Also, I honestly hope you fi nd the conference worthwhile and memorable. So, please be sure to enjoy yourselves!

With warmest regards,

Edward K.M. Chen
President of AESIEAP
