  “Taiwan Power Company, Ltd.” was organized on May1, 1946 to take over all power facilities in Taiwan. According to company law, “Taiwan Power Company, Ltd.” was registered to the government on December14, 1950. The company license was issued by the Ministry of Economic Affairs in 1951.

  The adjustment of the company's capital from NT$300 billion to NT$400 billion was passed in the Stockholders' Meeting on September 21,1998. At the end of 2008, the capital was NT$330 billion and the total assets reached NT$1.6 trillion. The major business items are power development, power supply and investment in power-related businesses.

   Association of the Electricity Supply Industry of East Asia and the Western Pacific, or commonly known as AESIEAP, is formed as a result of the first technical conference of representatives of the electricity supply industry in Southeast Asia and the Western Pacific in Hong Kong in 1975. AESIEAP is registered as a society in Hong Kong and operates under a formally adopted constitution.

  Its main objectives include: advance the exchange of expertise and technology between electric power organizations across countries within the region; promote the cooperation of international, regional, governmental and non-governmental electric power companies; study problems at regional level; sponsor meetings, conferences, seminars and the like on matters. It has become a powerful and professional key player among electric power industries.
